Music
Music is one of the fundamentals that is taught to our students at a young age. We have partnered with the Brooklyn Music School to establish our students' connection to music and learn how to express themselves using music as a medium. There are two ways we teach our students to express themselves with music.
THE MUSIC EXPERIENCE
In our music experience students listen to a variety of different composers and explore how music can affect our emotional states. This also supports children’s social development as they discover their own as well as their peers, different preferences when it comes to music.
INSTRUMENT PRACTICE
Practicing with different types of instruments at a young age helps develop a students dexterity, hand eye coordination and sense of rhythm. This helps our students express themselves in multiple mediums while learning a skill that they can continue to develop well into adulthood. We explore during practice the way that different rhythms affect mood and may impact social interactions.
